Acquired by Tesco.

In 2006, Eden helped establish Blinkbox alongside founders Michael Comish (ex-Channel 4) and Adrian Letts (ex-Vodafone). The vision was to create a truly personalised and engaging entertainment service for consumers passionate about TV and movies.

Blinkbox was a web based video destination where consumers could watch premium movies and TV episodes. Users could rent or purchase premium content and could instantly stream or download the full length movies/TV episode. Blinkbox was available on PC/Mac via the website, on various net connected TVs and the Sony Playstation.

Eden made the initial seed investment in Blinkbox. The company was funded further by Eden, Arts Alliance and Nordic Venture Partners. Blinkbox was acquired by Tesco in 2011 and is now a well-recognised brand in the UK for online home entertainment, forming the backbone of the retailer’s digital TV, film, music and books offering.
