At Eden, we aim to be strategic about where we place investments and therefore have an active research programme which focuses on different potential investment themes. The themes we are currently working on include:
- What makes us different
- At Eden, we address the funding gap between business angels and later stage venture capitalists, providing investment appropriate for the needs of an investee company and its stage of development. As a seed investor we are prepared to 'take the early risk' but we also have enough capacity in our funds to support our companies (alongside world-class co-investors such as Amadeus, Banexi, DFJ Esprit, Intel Capital, Union Square Ventures and Xange) to significant exits.
- Investment strategy
- We will invest as little as £200,000 to back an innovative idea, up to around £1.25 million for a team not yet ready for a traditional Series A investment, through to as much as £3 million for a team with early revenues requiring expansion capital. Critically, we will support our successful portfolio companies with additional funding as they develop over time up to around £6 million.

However you reach us, you might want to think of answers to the following questions as you prepare your approach. These are the obvious questions that we are always going to ask;- who are the people behind your business?
- what is the problem you are solving?
- how big is the opportunity?
- what is different about your business and why is this an advantage?
- is there any defensible intellectual property in your product or service?
- who are your main competitors?
- how will your business make money?
- how much capital investment are you looking for?
- have you had any previous investment?
- how much progress have you made so far?
