Ontology-PartnersAttacking the cost of systems integrationOntology-Partners is set to become the world's first company to use semantic modelling and reasoning technology to develop products for the telecommunications industry aimed at reducing OSS integration and application development costs. Spearheading the exciting innovation are founders Benedict Enweani (CEO) and Leo Zancani (CTO), both ex-Orchestream, the successful telecoms OSS software company. Their new London-based venture, which was established in December 2006, is developing pioneering software that uses semantic technology to interpret existing OSS infrastructures in terms of flexible models. The approach delivers a user driven CAD-like metaphor and thus removes the ongoing 'integration tax' associated with current tightly coupled approaches. At the same time, the approach spots dependencies, impacts and data quality issues in loosely connected legacy and network systems. Eden has partnered Celtic House as seed investors in the formation and development of this ground-breaking technology company. Eden contact: Mark Farmer

We7Free and legal music for the download generationVoiceVault provides voiceAward-winning music site We7 We7 works by grafting short, 10-second adverts onto the front of each downloaded track. Ads are based on a consumer’s demographic such as age, gender and location and can be extended into personal preferences. This tightly targeted advertising ensures that brand messages reach receptive ears while consumers can receive and share music legitimately and artists continue to receive royalties. For those who don’t want adverts, there’s an option to buy the track at normal price. Launched in 2007, We7’s vision is to become the leading free and legal web destination for the music download community. It also provides an important review platform for unsigned artists through its Tastemakers section. Major record labels providing their full catalogues on We7 include Sanctuary Records, V2, BigFish, and mTunes Records. Advertisers to date include Microsoft, Cafe Direct, Sony Ericsson and film distributor Optimum. Headquartered in Oxford, We7 currently focuses on the UK market, with plans for expansion into the US. In its first year We7 was a finalist in BT’s DMA awards for Best Digital Music Service and also won the Interactive Category at the prestigious Hospital Club Creative Awards. Eden joined founder investors Spark Ventures and musician Peter Gabriel in We7’s Series A Round financing. Eden contact: Charles Grimsdale
