Aframe

The collaborative video platform

As cameras fall in price, the amount of video produced is exploding.

Producing 6 hours of programming from 6,000 hours of raw footage is not an uncommon challenge. It is a highly collaborative process, involving many people from many different companies, who generally ship tapes and disk drives to each other using motorcycle couriers.

Aframe is set to change all of that. With Aframe, raw video is uploaded to the cloud, tagged - so it is searchable and then secured - so it is safe. Aframe's collaborative tools then allow stakeholders to review, comment and share, helping to decide what makes the final cut and what doesn't.  It is as easy as Facebook, and all for a monthly fee which is less than the motorcycle courier bill.

Broadcasters like the BBC and enterprises like British Telecom are already shortening the time and cost of TV production. If Aframe CEO David Peto realises his dream, then the rest of the industry will be quick to follow.

Eden invested in the company's Series A round in early 2012 alongside Octopus Ventures and Northstar.
